As mentioned in the “Projects & Improvements” section of the November 2003 issue of HABITAT magazine, Hartley House, 30-11 PARSONS BOULEVARD, a 104-unit cooperative building in the Flushing section of Queens, recently began an exterior renovation project. McFar Contractors has been hired to install a new railing for the parapet wall, remove and replace the parapet wall around the entire perimeter of building, replace the main roof and garage roof, and renovate the exterior façade including lintels, brick pointing, and window sills. Julia Kodis of Kaled Management and Cathy Nemitz, board president, are overseeing the $653,026 project, which began in August 2003.

Saxony Hall at 87-15 165 th STREET, an 85-unit cooperative in the Jamaica section of Queens, recently began a façade replacement program. McFar Contractors was contracted to perform a complete replacement of the entire brick façade on all exposures and replace the shelf angles and a/c sleeves. J.J. Macaluso & Associates are project engineers for the $825,000 project, which is being overseen by Richard Rossi of Kaled Management and Michele Hart, board president. The work began in September 2003.

Lane Towers at 107-40 QUEENS BOULEVARD, a 162-unit cooperative building in the Forest Hills section of Queens, recently began an exterior façade and terrace restoration project, including rebuilding the north and east parapet walls and rebuilding the entire façade from the 17 th to 19 th floors on the east and south exposures. McFar Contractors was hired as the project contractor and project architect. The $555,000 project began in June 2003 and is being overseen by board president Frances DiStefano and Richard Rossi of Kaled Management.
